A
Year in the Gospels
Jesus is a fascinating person. Oh
sure, we in the church know that, but sometimes
I think we lose perspective - we can't see the forest
for the trees. We are so caught up in church, in
life, in being good, that we lose sight of Jesus.
Even in non-Christian circles, Jesus
is immensely popular. He's quoted by presidents
and world leaders. He is modeled by activists. He
is loved by children. Good atheists and not so good
Christians honor his teachings and example.
But how much do we really know him?
Over the next year, we hope to get
to know Jesus. Every Sunday, we'll explore a passage
from one of the Gospels, looking at the themes of
the life of Jesus that inform us on who he is. What
did he do? Why was he here? And most importantly
- What do I need to do about it?
So join us, and invite your friends
and neighbors to come and get to know Jesus.
